Product Description

Industrial Plumbing Pipe Overhead Bar Twin Shelf Brackets is an industrial looking two shelf system made from plumbing pipe. Vintage style plumbing components are finished in a range of colour options from galvanised, raw black steel, or a flat black paint finish. Designed to withstand a reasonable weight, the shelf is suitable for many uses, from putting up all your favorite alcoholic spirits, to integrating plant features.

This product is supplied as a kit with the cross brackets assembled and the uprights separate to be screwed in when installing. The bottom shelf is secured to a large flange and the top shelf is secured to the same large flange with the shelf support sitting on threaded couplers to eliminate any movement under load. The gap between shelves can be selected when ordering.

The Shelf Hardware:

You choose the distance from the ceiling mounting point to the shelf level.   If your shelf is going to be any wider than 1200mm, we recommend you use a third bracket in the middle of the timber to avoid any bowing. The timber shelves can be 300mm wide to fit this kit.

Screws are provided for timber framed plaster for the ceiling. The surface being attached to and the screws that are being used will determine the weight load of the shelf itself. On plasterboard, it will withstand around 7 kilograms. For wood and masonry, it will hold up to about 15 kilograms (not including the weight of the wood).

The Timber:

The timber is not included in the product as it was a feature piece and is too much of an unreliable size and type.
Recommend size of the timber is 300mm wide and at least 25mm thick.

Hardware supplied

This product is supplied partly assembled and labelled.
Galvanised finishes are cleaned of oil and scrubbed to a reasonable degree. This makes sure no oil remains internally that could weep after assembly.
Raw black steel finishes are cleaned of mineral oils and dirt and prepared with a light coating of Linseed oil. You should re-apply this as needed to prevent rusting.
Painted finishes are cleaned, sprayed with primer, and then final colour. They are left to dry for at least 24 hours and inspected prior to shipping.
